S 25 Berlin: 40th Anniversary Run on May 3, 2020
Let’s move: Online registration started
Germany’s oldest city run is turning 40 – and invites you to the sportiest birthday party in Berlin! On May 3, 2020, the 40th edition of the S 25 Berlin will turn the heart of the capital city into an unforgettable sightseeing tour for more than 10,000 runners.
It offers routes over 10 kilometers, the half-marathon distance, the traditional 25 kilometers and a relay competition for teams (5 x 5 kilometers). The athletes start at the Olympic Stadium and – after the “stations” Victory Column, Brandenburg Gate, German and French Cathedral, Potsdamer Platz, Kurfürstendamm, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and Radio Tower – run to the finish on the famous blue track in the Olympic Stadium.
For the first time, the runners had conquered the streets of the German capital on 3 May 1981 – the French Allies in Berlin organized the “25 km de Berlin” and thus became the pioneer of German city runs.
How can I sign up?
From now on online registration is possible here: http://berlin-laeuft.de/s25berlin/anmeldung/.
What’s new for the anniversary?
When it comes to sustainability, the S 25 Berlin is taking the next step and expanding, among other things, the reusable cup refueling points and optimizes waste disposal. Also with the online registration and timekeeping, we are heading for the future – with “MyLaps”. So-called BibTags replace the ChampionChip which simplifies the handling, especially for the relay runners, as the chip no longer has to be handed over. In addition, any chip rental fee is waived.
How much does a start at the S25 Berlin cost?
The participation fee depends on the distance and the time of registration. Until December 31, 2019, a start costs between 19 euros (10 km) and 35 euros (25 km) or 65 euros for the 5x5km relay. Due to the above-mentioned innovations and cost increases in the past years, a slight price adjustment has become necessary this time.
When will it start on 3 May 2020?
On Sunday, May 3, 2020, the starting pistol for all runners will be fired at 10am on the Olympic Square in front of the Olympic Stadium. The stadium will be open from 8am.
